WATERS IN WILDERNESS

Vast stretches of land covered with sand stretched before her eyes. It was indeed a struggle either leading to life or death not only to her but also to her young son. Under the scorching rays of the sun searching for a spring or stream when one has no water left is no fun. In those moments of sheer hopelessness, the angel of God led Hagar to the spring in the desert while traversing through the wilderness. The Bible says, “The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.” (Genesis 16:7).
Whenever the angel sees us confronted with problems wherein our lips have gone dry with our tongue sticking to the upper jaws longing for water, he leads us to the spring. The Lord knows from where exactly the spring comes and His angel shall lead us to that place (Psalm 23:2). He shall never allow us to waste our time. In the coming days you shall see spring in your life. It shall increase even in your family life. Whether there is scarcity of water or not, the Lord shall keep us as a spring in the desert.
Probably your life appears a desert in whichever direction you turn to, on this day. However, the angel of God shall certainly lead you to the spring. You shall never waste either your time or your talents. The Lord shall graciously help your money to yield hundred times reward. The angel of God shall lead you to achieve that. You shall spend all your time not in the desert but near the spring. He shall create spring in the desert. This is what the angel of God shall do for you. The Lord says, ‘I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” (Exodus 23:20).
So do not rebel against God and thus grieve the Holy Spirit. Wherever He leads you please go to that place. He shall definitely take you to the place which He has prepared for you. He shall go before you and protect you on your way. He shall safely take you to your destination. He took Hagar to the exact place where there was water. In the same way both the angel of God and His Holy Spirit shall go before you and take you to your destination, the spring. Be of good cheer!
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I thank you for in moments of hopelessness You send an angel to lead me to the spring where I can quench my thirst. The young lions lack and suffer hunger but those who seek the Lord shall never lack in any good thing. I trust that You will make me lie down in green pastures and lead me to still waters. You alone are the source of my strength. Be with me and bless me.
