A Powerful PersonSpeaker: Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord shall strengthen you with His power to do mighty things for His glory. The Lord makes us strong people to destroy the evil. The Lord strengthened Gideon to destroy his enemies, in the same way the Lord will also make you strong. An angel of the Lord approached Gideon and said that he is a mighty warrior and the Lord was with him. Why was he made a strong man? It is just because he humbled himself to serve the Lord.
He offered everything to serve the Lord. Though Gideon was a very strong man, yet he humbled himself in the presence of the Lord and said, "How can I save these people? My clan is the weakest in the Manasseh clan and I am the least in the family. How can I save these Israelites?" (Judge 6:15). Since Gideon humbled himself before the Lord, the Almighty God gave him the power to destroy his enemies. The Lord did not forsake Gideon but promised to be with him. In Judges 6:16 the Lord said, "I will be with you and you shall strike down all the Midianites together as one man."
Surely the Lord promised that He would destroy all his enemies just as how one man would do. Gideon humbled himself and said that he was worthless and nothing.
Today, my dear Friend, you may also be saying that you are of no significance. When the Lord calls you, you might even give so many excuses. But the Lord is not going to forsake you because He wants to fill you today with the power of the Holy Spirit. You are chosen by God to serve Him. We are in the last days because problems surround us in all fronts. The daily newspaper highlights the mishaps taking place everyday. Remember you are not called by God to be a powerless person.
Today, give your heart to the Almighty God and promise to serve Him like Gideon. In the weakness of your flesh you may say that you are without any strength. But the Lord wishes to use you mightily in doing His ministry for His glory. He promises to be with you like a mighty warrior. No one can come against you or any tongue find fault in you.
Today the Lord will fill you with such power from above. Just as how the Lord promised Gideon, he stood as a single man and fought against all the Midianites and won the battle. When the people asked him to be the ruler, he said, "The Almighty God who is with me like a mighty warrior is the Ruler" (Judges 8:22). Since we are the children of God, He is going to be with us all the time. The ruler of this nation is the Almighty God. Surely the Lord will make you a great person in this nation.
How are the young people considered in the sight of the Lord? The Bible says, "Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth" (Psalm 127:4). The young people shall dart out like arrows from the hands of a mighty warrior and win every battle they confront. By His name the Lord is going to use you. "In My name (in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ) they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover" (Mark 16:17).
The Lord shall fill you with His Spirit and you shall do mighty things for Him. You shall speak in new tongues and the Lord will work through you. The Lord worked with the disciples and confirmed their words with signs that accompanied it. In Mark 16:20, we see that wherever the disciples went, the Almighty God went along with them and in which ever place they proclaimed the word of God, the Lord confirmed it with signs and wonders. Just like how the disciples worked for the glory of God He will use you for His glory.
Prayer:
Almighty God,
You enabled Gideon who humbled himself to fight against all his enemies single handedly. Give me the grace to humble myself in Your sight and be under Your mighty wings always so that I may be lifted up by You at Your appointed time. Forgive me the days in which I have uttered even without my knowledge that I am a powerless person. Make me bold and strong. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
