The Fear of The Lord

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Beloved! When you fear the Lord and obey His commandments, He will shower His grace and favour on you.

Beloved! When you fear the Lord and obey His commandments, He will shower His grace and favour on you. He will fill you with wisdom and understanding as well as exalt and honour you in life.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever” (Psalm 111:10).

Let me tell you how I developed the spiritual fear in me. The Lord has blessed me with a devout husband who fears Him and walks in His ways. He is saved and anointed and is very zealous for the Lord. Though I did not know much about higher spiritual levels in the early days of my marriage, his zeal inspired me to be zealous for the Lord. I started emulating my husband who meditated on the Word of God and prayed fervently for hours. The Lord taught me many things as I sought His presence. When my husband was away on ministry, I would spend my time in prayer asking the Lord to preserve him and use him mightily in the ministry. Sometimes he would set off for the ministry well before dawn and I would get all the things that he required ready for him, would see him off and be in prayer. We usually seek the Lord as a family early in the morning after which my husband would spend some time in prayer before leaving for office. I would assist him with his work whole heartedly with a belief that I was helping the Lord! The Lord started blessing me and is using me mightily in His ministry.

Beloved! When you fear the Lord and walk in His ways as a family, strife shall be far from your home. The Lord will bless you and your family. He will fill you with wisdom and use you for His glory. Blessings and honour shall follow you without fail.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

Give me a heart to fear You reverentially. Teach me Your Word and help me to grow strong in You. Teach me to do things that please You. Fill me with Your grace and use me for Your glory. Let Your grace be abundant upon me and everyone in my family. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen.
