Exceeding JoySpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord will forgive your sins and fill you with exceeding joy. Beloved! Are you remorseful for living a life that was displeasing to God? Do you yearn for Him in your life? Cheer up! The Lord will never despise your broken heart. When you repent of your sinful life, the Lord will not ignore your contrite spirit.
The Psalmist David says, “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
When you ask Him to come into your heart, He will gladly come in and heal your broken heart and make you happy. Jesus Christ says, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him” (John 14:23).
Ms. Tucker, a lady in the U.S.A. was sentenced to death for killing two persons. She fought for ten long years to get this sentence reversed. During her imprisonment she came to know that the Lord forgave people when they repented wholeheartedly. This was like honey to her because she was filled with remorse for her sins. She cried out to Him in tears to forgive her. The Lord forgave her and cleansed her with His precious blood, filled her with His exceeding joy. When the time for her execution drew near, newspaper reporters asked her, “What is your last wish?” She replied cheerfully, “I want to go to heaven and see my Lord Jesus. I would be happy and grateful if people forgave me of the crimes that I have committed against them. This is my last wish.”
She did not fear death but her face radiated the peace of the Lord. It was because the Lord did not despise her contrite spirit but forgave her and filled her with exceeding joy.
Beloved! Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins. He was buried and rose up on the third day. He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for the people. When you invite Him into your heart, He will come in and comfort your broken heart. He will wipe away your tears and fill you with exceeding joy.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Forgive my sins and cleanse me with Your precious blood! Lord, come into my heart and reign in me. Take away the guilt caused by my sinful living. Fill me with exceeding joy. Help me to grow stronger in You. Use me as a channel to bring comfort and to carry Your love to the broken hearted people. I give You all glory, honour, and praise.
