God of LoveSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord draws us to Himself with cords of love. Beloved! “God is love” (1 John 4:8,16). That was why He sent His beloved Son to the earth to redeem mankind from sin. Psalmist David says, “He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth; praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:2,3).
The Psalmist speaks of how the Lord in His love lifted him (David)from miry clay and set him on rock. Even the Lord in His love lifts us from our sinful life with cords of love. Hosea 11:4, says, “I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love.”
The love of man may fail. But the Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He is the same forever. He draws us with gentle cords of love to Himself. It is this abiding love of the Lord that wholly transforms our life of sin into one that is fragrant to Him. We too must be steadfast in our love for Him. When we are zealous in our love for the Lord, no worry, sorrow, pain or sickness can separate us from Him. We will be more than conquerors through Him in life (Romans 8:36, 37).
Beloved! Are you filled with the love of Christ? Have you tasted His sweet love? It is His desire that you should live a victorious life on earth. That was why He gave His life on the cross for you. Ask Him to come into your heart. He will surely come in and fill your heart with His love and goodness.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I praise and thank You that You gave Yourself for me on the cross. I ask You to come into my heart and cleanse me. Fill me with Your love and make me zealous for You. Help me to live a life that pleases You. Strengthen me and make me a conqueror in life. Let nothing separate me from You. Fill my life with Your goodness and mercy. I give You all glory, honour and praise.
