POWER OF PRAYERSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Receive miracles in your life through fervent prayers . Beloved! I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Our God is a prayer answering God. Today, let us meditate upon the power of prayer. Prayer is, pouring out your heart to God. It could be overwhelmed with anxieties, agonies, the needs of your life, and spiritual longings before the presence of the God.
In the Bible we read about David who was a man of prayer. He never failed to praise and thank God in his life. The following verses explain the thirst that David had for the living God.
“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:2)
“Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your heart before Him.” (Psalm 62:8)
“I pour out my complaint before Him, I declare before Him my trouble.” (Psalm 142: 2)
At times of trouble, David poured out his agonies and anxieties before God. And God faithfully rescued him from every trouble. David knew the power of prayer and was never shaken.
We also read about Hannah who was a pious woman but was barren. One day she went to the presence of the Lord in great bitterness, prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. She poured out her heart to the Lord. God heard her prayer and blessed her with a child who grew up to be a mighty Prophet of God. Once, I read a funny story about a young boy. He went to the church and prayed thus, “O Lord, I need One hundred rupees. Please send it to me. He wrote this prayer request and dropped it in the offertory box in the church. The elders of the church read it and were moved by the child’s trust in God.
Honouring his faith, they sent him fifty rupees. The boy, who received the amount, again wrote a letter, saying, “Lord you must have sent me one hundred rupees but as the letter was addressed to the church, the elders must have taken fifty rupees and sent me only fifty. Therefore, Lord, please send the money directly to my address”.
Beloved! It is no use complaining, grumbling or murmuring over our sickness and needs. Grumbling is a weapon of satan and it prevents us to receive the blessings from God. But seek God with your fervent prayers and surely He will answer your prayers.
Today, decide to trust the Lord with all your heart and pour out your anxieties only to Him. You are sure to receive miracles as David and Hannah did.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
You are a God who sees me. You have answered all those who called on You in anguish without fail. Lord, You see my sufferings and tears. Heed to my prayers and do a miracle in my life. Let me not be ashamed before the people who mock at me because of my faith in You. Surround me with your grace. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen. |
