GOD OF ALL COMFORT! Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: God who comforts all who mourn. My beloved, God came into this world to save mankind from sin and to comfort those who mourned. He carried this anointing to comfort where ever He went Philippians 2:1). He was moved with compassion when He saw the broken hearted. He comforted and performed miracles for them.
The Bible refers to Him as “God of all comfort” (II Corinthians 1:3).
When Martha and Mary lost their only brother to death, Jesus was moved with compassion and wept with them. He raised Lazarus four days after his death and burial. He comforted his sisters by giving back their brother alive. (John 11:33, 35).
He brought back to life the only son of a widow of Nain, He gave life to the daughter of Jairus (Luke 7:13-14, 8:54-55). Thus comforted the respective families.
In Acts of Apostle also we read that Peter raised Thabitha from death (Acts 9:40, 41) and St. Paul raised a young man who had fallen down from the third floor (Acts 20:10).
When our loving daughter met with the accident, my wife, I, and my nephew Ernest were also in the same car. They had kept the body of our daughter in the Government Hospital. My son and my father were weeping at home. My son received telegrams from all over the world. They had asked him, “Please do not bury the body of Angel. We all are praying that she should get back her life. She will certainly be raised from the dead.” Likewise, many devout men were praying with faith, standing by her body that she should be raised from death. We came to know about it only later. But, it was not God’s will that she should be raised.
Dearly beloved, in every body’s life, death will take away our loved ones’ but God’s says, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Yes, God will comfort and console us. Do not be troubled. The verse below explains this, cheering us.
“Therefore, the lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you, and therefore, He will be exalted.” (Isaiah 30:18).
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the Word. Fill me with the comforting anointing like you anointed Jesus Christ with. Help me to reach out to the broken hearted people. Let them feel the comforting presence and love of Jesus Christ. Thank You for you are going to use me to heal the broken hearted. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen.
