GREAT SACRIFICE Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: The true love of Jesus Christ is an incomparable one. Our Lord Jesus Christ obeyed His Heavenly Father's command and willingly renounced His glory to save us and to make it possible for us to reach heaven. This is the true love of Christ.
Our Heavenly Father is one who sits on a throne in heaven and in appearance, He is like a jasper and a sardius stone (Revelation 4:2,3).
He is beautiful to behold (Song of Solomon 5:16) and it is indeed not possible to express His beauty and love in words and at the same time His throne is compared to a fiery flame (Daniel 7:9). A pure river of water of life runs from His throne. Several million servants of God serve Him at all times. It is such a great God who was born in the form of an ordinary human being for the salvation of mankind.
“But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:7)
Several years ago, the son of a multimillionaire decided to become a hermit much to the surprise of his parents. "He is our only son and he says that he is going to renounce all the wealth that rightfully belongs to him. I was waiting all these years to see him married and lead a happy life," lamented his mother. But he was adamant in his decision.
His father spoke to him saying, "Son, we will not object to you becoming a hermit, but as your parents we wish to see you dressed as a bridegroom for a period of eight days and celebrate those eight days as though you were really getting married. Will you agree to this?" His son agreed to it.
He was later dressed as a bridegroom, placed on a palanquin and was taken on a procession around the town. The celebrations took place for eight days and all those who had come to the function were served variety of delicacies. After the eight days of celebrations, he discarded his cloths of finery, dressed himself as an ordinary person and set forth into the world as a hermit, leaving his parents behind in tears.
Our God in order to make it possible for us to live in this world and to reach heaven after our time is completed in this world, He was born as a man in this world and sacrificed Himself to deliver us from all our sins.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)
Dear friend, the love of Christ is an incomparable love. He gave up His glory willingly, was born as an ordinary carpenter's son for our sake and to save our soul. He came into this world as an ordinary human being. We being His children are extremely fortunate as He underwent all this for our sake.

Heavenly Father,
I praise and thank You from the core of my heart for sending Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ to save the humanity. Forgive my sins and enable me to reflect Him in my life. Help me to be humble in all my ways and to be an obedient child.
