CARING CHRIST

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: The compassion of Christ and makes us more than conquerors.

You have entered this website for meeting an unfailing God. (Hebrews 13:5; Joshua 1:9)

The Lord says, “Do not be afraid.” When you honour the wounds of the Saviour, He will bless you abundantly. Therefore, submit your life into His loving hands. His compassion fails not (Lamentations 3:22). During Jesus Christ’s sojourn on this earth, He was always moved with compassion when He saw people shedding tears.

A leper came pleading for the divine touch of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 1:40-42). In those days, lepers were considered outcasts thrown out of home and the society. The Bible says that Jesus was moved with compassion over the leper’s plea. He called the leper. Laid His hands upon him and uttered these words. “I am willing be cleansed.” The compassion of the Lord healed the leper.

Two blind men cried out. “Please don’t go away without healing us.” (Matthew 20:31-32) Jesus Christ was moved with compassion. “What shall I do for you?” He asked them. “Lord! We want our vision back. We would like to see.” Jesus touched and restored their eyesight through His compassion.

A woman kept crying because she could not see Jesus. Nobody could console her. Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene. “Why are you crying woman?” When she knew the person was Jesus she jumped with joy. The compassion of Christ wiped away her tears. John 20:11-15

Today the Lord Jesus Christ is alive. Are you searching for the miracle worker? Are you crying out where is He? Just as He called Mary by name, He will also call you. Let not your heart be troubled. He is a God of compassion.

Two orphan sisters lost their only brother. They looked at Jesus. “Had You been here, my brother would not have died. Where were You Lord Jesus? Why did You leave us like orphans? Why?” These were the words that they could utter. The Bible says that God was moved with compassion and wept along with them. He went to the tomb of their brother and shouted. “Lazarus! Come forth!” Lazarus came back to life (John 11:33-38). This compassion of Christ never fails. If you carry Him in your heart to your home, He will be moved with compassion for you.

When faced with problems, His never failing compassion will come up and pull you out of the problem. You may have to fight your way through in life but the Lord encourages you. "In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). Jesus never promised an easy-going life. The world is cursed because of the sins and therefore we live among tribulations. Whenever problems crop up, the compassion of Christ sustains you. Do not be disheartened. Problems, trials, tribulations, sorrow may exist but overcome them by the compassion of Christ.

How does God grant us His compassion?

This comes through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings the compassion of God and saves us from all tribulations. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses (Romans 8:26). Tribulations try to compress and destroy us. However, the Holy Spirit who is in us cries out to the Lord for His compassion. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).

When tribulations come, the Holy Spirit raises a standard on our behalf against it through the compassion of Christ and makes us more than conquerors. (Isaiah 59:19).

Prayer:

Loving Lord,

Thank You for Your compassion and promise that You will not leave nor forsake me. Grant me Your compassion through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Help me to face the tribulations brought about by this world boldly and become more than a conqueror through Your power. Bless this day with all Your goodness even as I place all my cares and concerns at Your feet.

All glory, honour and praises belong to You.

Amen.
