NEW EVERY MORNING

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: The Lord's mercies are new every morning.

“The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you” (Numbers 6:25) God instructs the pastor (priest) to put His grace upon the faces of the people so that they would shine. Their faces are darkened because of the darkness that exists in this world.

When the darkness of sickness, loneliness, ingratitude of the people, financial problems and attacks of the devil surround, it is true that you and I cry, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” It is for this reason that the Lord died on the cross of Calvary and desires to make the faces of His children shine. “Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:45-46)

Therefore God commands the pastors to bless the people so that His grace shall come upon them. When the grace of God descends upon a person it removes every form of darkness and makes their face to shine.

Today, my dear Friend, God wants you to shine by receiving His grace. He wants you to be full of joy and that is why when the pastor pronounces a blessing in the church His grace comes upon you.

What does this grace do?

Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Please surround me with Your perfect grace and mercies for this day. Make my face shine in this world that is full of darkness. May those who surround me see Your light shining on my face and be cheered up now and forever. Let Your light bring life to the lifeless. I commit this day into Your care.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen
