THE SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINSSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: What is the confidence that Jesus Christ will set me free from my sins? It is because Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins. With full of holiness He came into the world to become a sacrifice for our sins. Sin separates us from God. Isaiah 59:1, 2 says your iniquities have separated you from God. Your sins have hidden His face from you. When we commit sin or fall into addictions we are unable to see His loving face, pray and also believe that HE will answer our prayers.
In such circumstances we cry in loneliness and without hope. That is why many people commit suicide when they are bereft of hope or they become terrorists. Since they do not have hope within themselves, they go out into the world to destroy the hope in the lives of others. Unable to bear the separation from God an alcoholic husband beats his wife and a man who steals continues cheating the people. Either that sinner destroys himself or he destroys others. Dearly beloved being separated from God is treacherous. Hebrews 12:14 says, God is holy and only with holiness you can see God.
There was a leader of a church who was at the point of dying because he had cancer. He had sent a word to us asking, "Bro. Dhinakaran please come before I die." We boarded a plane and went to the place where he lived. We thought that he would ask us to pray for his healing. But he said, "No! Brother, I want you to forgive me. Even without my knowledge I have spoken ill of you. I have passed wrong comments against you and your ministry. Now that I am going to die, I do not want those sins to stop me from going to Jesus Christ. Brother, please say one word that you have forgiven me. Then I will be united with God. Just one word that you have forgiven me." Sin separates us from God.
May be you are here unable to reach God. Today Jesus wants to set you free from sin, unite you with God and give you His divine peace.
What is the confidence that Jesus Christ will set me free from my sins? It is because this Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins. He is God but He took the form of a man. With full of holiness He came into the world to become a sacrifice for our sins.
Prayer
Loving Lord,
I praise and thank You because You sacrificed Your life for me. Help me to always remember that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me, whom I have received from God, and I am not my own but I belong to You. For You paid a price and bought me. Therefore help me to glorify You in my body and in my spirit, which are Yours. Keep me holy as You are holy. Let not sin have dominion over me.
All praises, glory and honour belongs to You alone.
