GIVE UNTO GODSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord always watches over your deeds. He who looks at your cheerful giving will bless you ten times in abundance to what you have given. Such is the love of our Lord. He is always watchful over His dear ones. Lead a life giving cheerfully unto God. The Bible says in II Corinthians 9:7 that God loves a cheerful giver. My dearly beloved, give joyfully unto the Lord and see the benefits that you would reap as a result of this gesture.
The Bible says, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." Some people would give away all that they have. Such people have received great blessings from the Lord in a miraculous way. Give and witness the joy that you would receive in return. Don't murmur and doubt, "Is it true that whatever I offer goes to the Lord?" Never say, "Only people receive it." The Almighty God who sees you will surely bless you because you give unto God.
"Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine." Proverbs 3:9,10
If there are fruit yielding trees in your house, offer your best to the Lord and He will increase the produce. The Bible says, "But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." I know about a certain woman, whose husband used to give his salary to her. With sincerity, she would immediately take one tenth of the amount and place it aside for God. Then she also set aside another portion for the needy and down trodden.
"He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given." Proverbs 19:17 The Lord always watches over your deeds. He who looks at your cheerful giving will bless you ten times in abundance to what you have given. Such is the love of our Lord. He is always watchful over His dear ones. Since that woman gave liberally and cheerfully to the Lord, all her needs were taken care off in a wonderful manner by the Lord. Even after the demise of her husband, her children took care of her. She lived peacefully until a ripe old age and then went to meet her husband.
These days, many lament, "My children do not support me in financial matters at all. They do not take care of me." When you are in times of happiness think over this. "Have you ever given unto God liberally and cheerfully? Have you supported the cause of His ministry at any time? Did you have pity on the poor?" Don't gather your treasures and keep them in store. For they are likely to be destroyed by moth, rust and also thieves may break in and steal. On the contrary, when you give it to the Lord it is multiplied and given back to you.
Therefore, dearly beloved in Christ, our Lord is able to give you many times in return for what you give unto Him.
Many years ago when I faced financial stringencies I used to stitch the old sarees and wear them trying to keep this fact away from the knowledge of my husband. My husband was an officer in the State Bank of India. I knew that he would be greatly disheartened at knowing our plight.
Even in such circumstances, he used to give away a major part of his earning as contribution towards the Lord's ministry. The Lord watched us with great concern. Now God has in His mercy enabled me to give away sarees to many women who are in abject poverty. Oh what a great joy it is. The Lord gives back many times more than what you give unto Him as per Malachi 3:10, He will open the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
Prayer
Almighty God,
I praise and thank You for being mindful of those who reach out to the needy. In Your mercy help me to always acknowledge that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Grant me Your grace to give liberally and cheerfully to those who are in need. Enlarge my heart today that I may reach out to someone filled by Your love and bring a sweet smile on their face.
