GOD CARES FOR YOUSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: "Save him but let me die." This is LOVE. From where did this love come? He is neither my relative nor anyone born in my home. The Love of God. This love comes from the CROSS. In this world there are times when we feel forlorn. Several years ago, I passed by a big cathedral. On the outside wall of the cathedral, a wonderful verse from the Bible was written. "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me." Psalm 27:10.
Yes, even if my father and mother forsake me, the Lord Jesus shall not forsake me. He will surely accept me. Several times I read the same verse and it gave me great consolation. Such things do happen.
Once I visited the home of a very good friend of mine. I saw a young girl running up and down enthusiastically serving all of us. She served us snacks and coffee. I asked my friend, "Who is this girl? She appears to be someone new to me." She expressed sadness in her face and said, "This is my niece. I happened to visit her house where I saw her own father and mother treating her very badly. The reason being she was born with black skin. They told that they did not know whether she was their child and they never sent her to school nor accompanied her to church but treated her as a servant. Their own child, born in their own home. Born in the womb of my relative and she was treated very poorly, it broke my heart. I said, 'let her come with me.' Then I brought her here and she is so happy."
My dearly beloved, even during such troubled times, the Lord says 'I will take care of you and bless you. Oh what a marvellous God we have. In the year 1969, both my lungs collapsed with a terrible disease. All the time, I vomited blood; often a raging fever gripped my lungs. When the morning came I would ask,'When will evening come?' Then I would try to sleep in the night forgetting all my sorrows and miseries. Alas when the night came I would scream 'When will daylight come?'
My dearly beloved, I suffered so much exactly like Job as told in Job chapter 7. I searched for my friends but there was no one. I went to people whom I thought would sincerely pray for me. They said, "Sir, you are possessed with a powerful demonic force. If we pray for you, the same powerful demonic force would attack us. We don't want to do that." Some people said, "We dreamt or had a prophetic vision of a candle being burnt on both sides and you are that man. You will melt and die. God has already shown it to us." There was nobody to encourage me. That is the world.
My precious brothers and sisters, only Godly people will love you. Even if my father and mother forsake me my God will take care of me. One day an elderly pastor came running to my home. He said, "I just now heard the news that you are dying." He knelt down by my side cried unto God and said, "Father, I am 67 years old, this man is just half of my age. Take all the sickness that he has and put it upon me. Let me die but allow this young boy to live. He will serve You for many more years to come. Save him but let me die." This is LOVE. From where did this love come? He is neither my relative nor anyone born in my home. The Love of God. This love comes from the cross.
If you read Isaiah 52:14, when the Lord Jesus Christ was hanging on the cross, the Bible says His face was marred beyond recognition. It looked so uncomely. Nobody would love to look at that face for it was marred beyond recognition. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:2, that there was no beauty or comeliness on His face. The Bible says that He was despised and rejected by the people.
My brothers and sisters, today He understands. Do you feel despised or rejected? Do you feel that people do not want to look at your face? It happened to Him, He will understand. He will surely bless you, embrace you and say I want you. The pastor said, 'let every disease come upon me and let me die but save this young man.' The Lord Jesus Christ has already done it.
The Bible says, 'He took our griefs and sorrows upon Him.' He took our infirmities and sickness upon Himself. He took our curse and became a curse for us. He took everything upon Himself so that you can live happily. Be of good cheer! He died for you.
Prayer
Loving Lord,
I praise you for You alone are the personification of true love. Fill my heart with Your divine love so that I may cheer the weary hearts that I meet today. May Your perfect love flow through me this day prospering not only my soul but also all the souls to whom I reach out today. Help me to remember that even if I am forsaken by this world You are always there to accept me.
