FAITH IN THE WORDS OF JESUS CHRIST

Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran

Gist: Only when a preacher reads the word of God diligently, meditates prayerfully, waits upon the Lord with fasting and brings the words to the people, wonders and miracles will happen for God's glory.

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." (Matthew 24:35) said Jesus Christ. In the "Acts of the apostles" we could observe, how much significance was given to the word of God by the apostles.

"And the word of God spread" (Acts 6:7)

"...the word of God grew and multiplied" (Acts 12:24).

"....And the world of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region" (Acts 13:49).
"So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed" (Acts 19:20).

"....but the word of God is not chained" (II Timothy 2:9).

Yes, we observe that the word of God spread everywhere and prevailed in the days of the apostles. In Acts 28:31, the last verse of the book, we read that St. Paul was preaching the word of God with all confidence.

"In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God." (John 1:1).

"That which was from the beginning which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes which we have looked upon and our hands have handled, concerning the word of life" (I John 1:1) says John the apostle.

Yes, Jesus Christ is the Living Word. That is why when we preach His words the demons flee as they cannot remain in the presence of the Holy God.

Late Pastor Sundaram used to advise fellow servants of God, "If you have to preach for an hour, you should pray for atleast for four hours."

So we have to read the word of God diligently, meditate prayerfully, wait upon the Lord with fasting and bring the words inspired by His presence to the people. When we preach such a message with great faith in the Lord, the presence of God would descend upon the people in a significant measure and degree. Wonders and miracles will happen and the name of the Lord will be glorified.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I praise and thank you for Your wonderful words. Please help me to keep them always in my heart so that I might not sin against You. Help me to meditate upon Your word which is a lamp to my feet and a healing to my flesh. Grant me the grace to acknowledge the fact that the word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Enable me to abide by Your words.

In the most matchless name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
