HELP IN SHAME!

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Dearly beloved, in this New Year the Lord will be your help and support. He would offer you in double measure all that you are yet to receive and everything that you have lost so far.

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:26

"For the Lord GOD will help Me; therefore I will not be disgraced; I know that I will not be put to shame." (Isaiah 50:7, 49:23, Psalm 69:6).

According to these verses quoted above, the Lord would protect and guard all those who glorify and worship His name; He would never allow all those who believe in Him and wait upon Him be put to shame.

Once a few sisters came to meet me. One of them said, "Sister, I love to pray alone. But our house is a very small one. I have no room to pray. I lack privacy. So I find it very difficult to concentrate and pray with liberty. So kindly give me permission to use one of the rooms in your house. I will come here and pray without any disturbance to anyone." I replied, "Sister, I am extremely happy. No one will disturb you here. But your house is far away. You might come here regularly for a few days to pray. Afterwards you may lose interest or become tired of travelling all the way to my house to pray. So you better stand firm in your humble lodging itself. If you place a cot in a corner and hand a bed-sheet it will form a separate room. Stay there and pray earnestly. The Lord would listen to your sincere prayer and exalt you very soon." In those days no one in her house had accepted Christ as their Saviour. Others criticized and teased her. Her own sister complained saying, "She is lazy enough to get up early in the morning and bring water for the house. She buries herself in that room and finds this babbling an excuse for all hard work at home." All others joined together and made fun of her prayerful activities. She came and reported to me about their bitter words of criticism. I used to encourage, pray and send her away. Inspite of all these negative and adverse circumstances she continued to pray faithfully in her tiny prayer corner. In course of time, the Lord listened to her sincere prayer and brought all the members of her family into salvation experience. The Lord accepted the humble prayers supplicated from that poor surrounding and answered her sincerity and firm faith very richly. The Lord never left her to be ashamed. He was her help and support in her shame and suffering. "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured our in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us" (Romans 5:5). "...but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted" (Psalm 75:10) says the Bible.

Dearly beloved, in this New Year the Lord will be your help and support. He would offer you in double measure all that you are yet to receive and everything that you have lost so far. He would bless you with two fold blessings instead of the shame you have experienced (Isaiah 61:7). May the Lord be your help and support and bless you in all aspects of your life and keep you glad all the days of this New Year.
