THE LORD WHO GOES BEFORE US Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Dear friend, you may have your own apprehensions as to how this year ahead of you would be? In such circumstances our compassionate Lord tells you, "My son/daughter, I am going before you." I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. Isaiah 45:2-4 The Almighty God promises that He would go before us in our journey this New Year.
Long ago a man went for hunting in a forest. That particular terrain was unknown to him. Therefore, a young boy accompanied him as his guide. That young boy was walking before him and guiding him all the way. They hunted the whole day. At dusk, that man said to the boy, "It is getting dark, show me a short cut to reach our lodging." The boy led him through a rocky, rough path covered with thorny bushes. Awesome darkness crept in. The hunter panicked and cried, "Do you really know the way? I do not see any proper path here. Where are you leading me to?" Fear and frustration gripped his voice. The boy smiled at the hunter and said, "Sir, I know the way. Just remain calm and follow me." He walked quickly and safely led the man out of the dense thicket.
Dear friend, you may have your own apprehensions as to how this year ahead of you would be? Perhaps you may be dismayed and confused! Indeed we do live in a chaotic world, but remember that in such circumstances our compassionate Lord reminds us, "My son, my daughter, I am going before you." Not only that, He also tells us,
"I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life" John 8:12
Prayer
Our Father in Heaven,
Oh compassionate and merciful Father! I come to You this day seeking Your precious presence to abide with me always. Help me to know that You are always with me even unto the end of the ages. I commit this day into Your loving hands. Bless my going and my coming so that every act of mine today might bring glory and honour to Thy holy name.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen. |
