Be PerfectSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Confess whatever is rooted in your mind in the presence of the Lord. The blood of Lord Jesus will cleanse you from all your sins. The Lord's divine peace and joy will fill your heart. He wishes to make you perfect. "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)
Friend, as human beings, our hearts may be flooded with many characteristics which displease our gracious Lord.
"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." (Matthew 15:19)
This ultra-modern, sophisticated, fashion-oriented world pollutes the minds of many. A lot of people get into sinful desires and flounder without realising that they are going astray from the presence of the Lord. Even those who profess themselves to be sanctified, get trapped by the devil.
There is no other remedy for this mishap than the holy blood of our Lord Jesus that was shed for our sake. That blood alone has the sanctifying power to cleanse our 'dead works'.
"The blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, shall cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God." (Hebrews 9:14)
Dear friend, probe your life indepth. Your own conscience has the potency to reveal your thoughts, "accusing" or else "excusing" (Romans 2:15).
"For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things." (1 John 3:20)
The sole purpose of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the Cross of Calvary was to banish our infirmities. He 'knows all things' and is able to bring about His perfection in us. He alone can transpose our sin-stained lives to the holy light. Our sins can be washed only by the blood of Jesus which was shed on the Cross of Calvary.
"He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)
Dear friend, do not cover the sins that are corrupting your life. Be it petty or serious, confess whatever is rooted in your mind in the presence of the Lord and shed tears of true repentance like a child.
"The blood of Jesus Christ, cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)
Mary Magdalene, out of whom seven demons were cast out by the Lord Jesus, became a faithful follower of our Lord. The pitch darkness cast by the devil tormenting her body was expelled and a divine light pervaded her mind. Moreover, she had the good fortune to live in fellowship with Jesus. Many people lived at the time of Jesus, but Mary was one among those few who provided for Him from their substance. More significantly, when the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after His death, He first appeared before Mary Magdalene before showing Himself to His chosen disciples, even before ascending to His Heavenly Father.
The divine peace and joy, which have been filling you so far will dispel the darkness of sin and the bonds of the devil and grant you the favour of seeing Him face to face. He will transform you into a person of perfect grace and bless you abundantly.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I come to Your holy presence and confess all my shortcomings and sins that I have committed - in my thoughts, words and deeds. Father, please forgive me. Cleanse me one more time with the holy blood of Your precious Son. Let divine peace and joy fill my heart. Help me to lead a life that is pleasing in your sight. Teach me to be perfect just as You are holy and perfect. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
