He Lives To Keep You Fervent In SpiritSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord who lived and died on this earth to give you countless good things and blessings is alive today. He will shower all His blessings on you and strengthen you, making your life courageous and zealous. He will pour His Spirit measurelessly on you. "Be fervent in spirit" (Romans 12:11) says the Bible.
When our Lord Jesus lived on this earth, God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and without measure (Acts 10:38; John 3:34). He was a person, doing good, healing those caught in the power of the devil and fervent in Spirit. We should also follow His life as an example. His disciples and many who were with Him received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost and later lived 'fervent in the Spirit'; in the same way, we can also live like them with the help of God. If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you (Romans 8:11). The Holy Spirit will strengthen us so that we could be resurrected in Body, Soul and Spirit. Consider the experience of the disciples. After receiving this experience, cowardly fearful lives they led, changed into brave and powerful lives, as we read in the Bible.
God will strengthen us also, making our lives courageous and of zealous devotion. He will pour His Spirit measurelessly on us so that each one of us can 'arise and shine'; His glory will be seen upon us (Isaiah 60:1,2).
Immediately, after my son Paul Dhinakaran got married to the God given bride, Evangeline, she did not the hot fervor of the Spirit. But after coming to our home, when she saw us all intently praying together filled with the Holy Spirit, and fervent in Spirit, she began to pray, "O, Lord, how they pray, rejoicing in Your intimate relationship with them. Give me the same experience. Fill me with the Holy Spirit." In spite of the loss of her dear mother and beloved brother, she was persistently praying to God not yielding to any dejection.
"Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." (John 16:24)
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luke 11:13)
In accordance with these promises, God filled her with the Holy Spirit. Whenever I inspired her and made use of her in the ministry, she obediently attended to that particular aspect of the ministry. God who observed this, made her 'fervent spirit'. Today when she gives messages, along with me, or separately in her own meetings, and prays, people are surprised to see God's powerful might, and the divine fervour descends on them. The Lord gracefully showers His Holy Spirit on young women and elders abundantly. Moreover, He is healing many people. Heeding her prayer-cries, God gives children to the childless and blesses them. Who was responsible for all this? Only the Lord, who heard her prayers which she made with immeasurable eagerness and zeal, clinging to Him. O! He is an impartial God. Whatever be your condition, He wants to make you fervent in Spirit, to rise and shine for Him. Ponder over your present state and kneel down at the feet of God and pray ceaselessly with thirst, "O, Lord, my relationship with You is lukewarm, neither cold nor hot; You could have spewed me out of Your mouth (Revelation 3:16). Will You not fill me with Your fervent Spirit?" Fill me with Your Holy Spirit." God will definitely make you live in Him.
My dear friend, do you realise that the Lord lived and died on this earth to give you countless good things and blessings and He lives even today? May He shower on you and your family each of these blessings, in these days, by making you live in Christ.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I thank You for Your mighty love and for the way it has touched my life. Thank You for empowering me, enabling me to do things I never thought I could do. You have allowed me to serve You, equipping me with Your Spirit, and filling me with Your love. Help me to act in love, speak in love, walk in love, and pray in love. Keep my emotions under the power of YOUR love, and make my thoughts loving ones. I want to serve You, Lord. Amen. |
