Your Life will GlitterSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: When you are passing through the dusky darkness, just look up at Jesus who is the 'Light of the World'. He will heed your cry and make His light shine upon you. Then you will receive the light of life and arise and shine. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
On many occasions people complain about their children become the slaves of undesirable habits, influenced chiefly by unwholesome friends. The root cause is the basic fact that they were 'brought forth and in iniquity'. As they grow up, sin also gatherers mass and when they surrender to the lust of the flesh, their lives hurtle towards destruction.
Once I happened to read a story about a young man in a magazine. He has been fond of listening, both in his car and home the popular music craze, 'KISS' - Kids In Satan's Service. His mother exhorted him not to enjoy listening to the debating music, but he was not willing to give up his habit. Having become a slave of that devil of that musical chant, he avowed to his mother, "I cannot exist without it. It has become integrated with my heart." Consequently, the young boy could not concentrate on his lessons and his future became a big question mark. He could not achieve anything and peace in his family was shattered.
"There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked." (Isaiah 57:21)
Accordingly, when young people follow depraved ways, the darkness of fear surrounds them. They become restive, as there is no peace in their lives. Aware of their predicament, the Lord says, "My children, it is enough for you to grope in darkness. I want to illuminate your hearts."
In Matthew 7:45,46 we read, when Lord Jesus was crucified, from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land, He unable to bear it, He cried out in a loud voice, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" As He Himself has traversed that path of darkness, He is fully aware of the ways of darkness, which entraps you.
"I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12)
Dear friend, when you are passing through the dusky darkness, just look up at Jesus who is the 'Light of the World'. He will heed your cry and make His light shine upon you. Then you will receive the light of life and arise and shine.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge You as the light of the world. Remove all the darkness that has encompassed me and fill me with Your light. Help me to share Your light with others and help them to come out of darkness and follow You. Let Your light shine in me always. Make a shinning light that others also may acknowledge and declare You as the light of their lives. I make this humble prayer through Christ Jesus, my light.
Amen. |
