Heavenly HomeSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: Does Jesus dwell in your heart? Does that renowned Architect reside in you? Yield your life to Him right now and He will gladly come into your life. He will bless you and grant you eternal joy in the heavenly home. The wise woman builds her house (Proverbs 14:1). So should everyone build a house in heaven. "For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens" (2 Corinthians 5:1). Our Lord Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)
"When you fail, they will receive you into an everlasting home." (Luke 16:9)
Many years ago, when I had been to the city of Hyderabad, I was taken to a place called Golconda. You can see several stately tombs of ancient kings there. Every king in his old age would design his own tomb and order it to be built in his life-time. Would he not have had a painful realization every time he saw the grave that some day he would die and his body would be consigned to that grave?
"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:20, 21)
I know a grand old lady in the U.S.A. who was a powerful evangelist. She lived all alone in her old age and was facing bitter opposition to her ministry. She was surrounded by lot of problems on all sides. One day at sunset, she went to see the graves of her parents. Realizing that the sun would soon set in her life as well, she cried out, "Father! Mother! Where are you? It is in the present context that I need you the most. I am stifled by a sense of loneliness." In a few days she took seriously ill and was taken to a hospital. While preparing to undergo an operation, she called her brother and said to him, "I want to go home." Everyone thought that she meant her own apartment in the town. But she clearly said, "Not to my house but my heavenly father's home." The Holy Spirit descended on her. Her face became radiant and soon the entire room was brightly lit. Her life ebbed out and she went joyfully to the heavenly home that she desired.
The Holy Scripture says, "For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life" (2 Corinthians 5:4). Accordingly, even at the hour of death God sends His life. It carries our lives up to heaven. In the twinkle of an eye we shall be there in heaven.
Dear friend, Do you have this faith? Does Jesus dwell in your heart? Does that renowned Architect reside in you? Have you submitted your body and soul to Him? If not, yield your life to Him right now. He will gladly come into your life, build and raise your home. He will bless you and grant you eternal joy in the heavenly home!
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Help me to build my in a wise manner. Help me to save all my treasures not in this earthly house, but in Your everlasting Heavenly house. Grant me the hope that when I depart from this world, I will be with You in heaven happily forever. Teach me to lead a worthy and god-fearing life. I make this humble prayer through Jesus Christ, my Lord.
Amen. |
