"I will not leave you nor forsake you." (Joshua 1:5)

Dear friend, you may be perplexed by the problems in your personal lives or you may be depressed by poverty in your family or you may have met with failure either in your studies or in your career. Do not be dismayed! God will never forsake you.

On May 21, 1986, my beloved sister, Angel died in a fatal car accident. My parents were badly injured and were admitted in the hospital. The doctor said to me, "Paul, your father's hand has been fractured because of the accident. A surgery has to be performed. Even after the surgery, we cannot guarantee that he will be able to use his hand." On hearing what the doctor said, my heart broke into pieces and I cried, "Lord Jesus, on how many thousands of people did my father lay this hand and pray for? How can it go unused or is it to remain unused throughout his life? I shudder to think of it. Please cure him, dear Lord." The Lord pitied me. Within a week, He gave perfect healing to the fractured hand. Even today, he lays his hands on thousands of people who seek his earnest prayers.

It is so easy to betray the Lord in our distress. But once we leave Him, what is the fate of our soul? Should we allow it to perish in hell or by following the Lord, live happily in Heaven? Through His Holy Spirit, the Lord miraculously gave me courage and confidence. After the tragic death of my beloved sister, my life was fully transformed. The Ministry began to grow and spread far and wide. The Lord exalted me. He began to perform miracles when I offered prayers for those who wrote and asked me for prayers. The Lord performs several miracles in public meetings which I address. He did not forsake me. He gave a new direction to my life.

You may be passing through tears in the valley of shadow of death. You may doubt whether the Lord can use you. People may think low of you. Look at our loving and gracious Lord Jesus. He was a young man when He lived a remarkable life. Devout men like Joseph, Daniel and David were all quite young when they were used mightily by God as they obeyed Him. When the Holy Spirit descended on them, they shook the entire land and ruled over kingdoms.

Dear friend, do you lose courage and confidence and say, "How is my future going to be? How will the Lord make use of me? Did He call me at all to be what I am today? Can I live according to the Word of God and manifest His greatness? Will miracles happen when I pray?" Do not be disheartened! The Lord desires to use you to perform mighty deeds. You have been bound by the Almighty God and filled with His Holy Spirit. You have been chosen and called according to His everlasting decree. He says, "I will be with you. I will neither leave you nor forsake you. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:5,9). Be of good cheer! He will be with you, as He was with Moses and Joshua and will make your life and your good works to grow and help you bear good fruits. He will make you a blessing to others.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. Strengthen and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I give myself entirely into Your hands. Melt me, mould me and use me for the glory of Your mighty name. Make me a blessing to others and to my family. Let Your presence go with me, that I may heed to Your voice and obey accordingly. Do not leave me or forsake me. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.

Amen.
