The Lord Is Ever Mindful Of YouSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Do you feel that you are unloved and uncared by your near and dear ones? Have you been deserted by all? Be not be dismayed! Lord Jesus is always mindful of you. He will deliver you and lift you up from your lowliness. Once a young sister met me and said, "Brother, ten years back we were a well-off family. Suddenly one day, my father expired. Alas! In a few days' time, my mother also took seriously ill. Everyday, some problem or the other came over her. We lived in much distress and there was no peace at home. Many people who knew our family very well soon forgot us. Brother, one day at a particular function I saw your father coming in front of me. I thought that he might not recognize me. But he walked straight to me, held my hands and made kind enquiries about our family. My joy knew no bounds!"
"Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble." (Psalm 41:1)
Dear friend, how happy we are and how good we feel when a distinguished person recognizes and talks to us a few kind words! Great is our ecstasy when the Holy Scripture tells us that even in our lowliness, the Almighty God has not forgotten us. He always remembers us.
When Lord Jesus was crucified on the cross at Calvary, two robbers were crucified on either side of Him. One of them despised Him. But the other robber rebuked him and said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom" (Luke 23:42). Our Lord Jesus, whose heart is filled with love and compassion turned to him and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 3:43). He comforted him and offered him the priceless gift of heavenly life with Him in Paradise.
Once a young man told me in great anguish, "Brother, I am a graduate. I lost my father when I was a young boy. I became a slave to all bad habits and worldly pleasures. They gave me much pleasure at first. As days passed by, I had boils all over my body. Dark figures used to surround me at night and torture me. I spend sleepless nights in horror and unbearable misery. I am neither able to study nor am able to get a job. There is no one to love me. Is there no future for me? Please pray for me."
Another sister wrote a very pathetic letter saying, "My dear brother, a certain young man in our neighbourhood spreads false rumours about me and scandalises my name. My father is greatly distressed by this and he detests me. Though I am innocent, I am greatly troubled. I am spurned by all. Very often I am prompted to put an end to my life."
Dear friend, are you also passing through such travails, forsaken by all? Are you shedding silent tears unable to bear the pain, humiliation and suffering? Do you feel unloved and uncared? Do you feel so insecure all the time? Turn your eyes towards the Holy Scripture for a while. Devout Job bewailed saying, "My relatives have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me" (Job 19:14).
The loving and caring Lord Jesus tells us, "Be not dismayed! I am with you." Turn for succour to Him who is mindful of you. He will remember you grant you the priceless gift of being with Him in the Heavenly Kingdom of joy. He will exalt you!
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." (James 4:10)
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Many a time, I am forsaken by all my near and dear ones. There is no one to care for me or to love me. I thank You for being ever mindful of me. You are there to comfort and sustain me during the times of painful suffering. Help me to be humble before You and before others. Give me a heart that is filled with love and compassion. I give You all the glory. In Jesus matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
