Cleansing Blood of JesusSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: A guilty conscience is the greatest enemy to man. Guilt cannot be overcome unless sin is washed away from a person's life. It is the blood of Christ Jesus that washes away sin and grants deliverance from guilt. "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations." (Psalm 98:1,2)
In many Gospel meetings, when the speaker or the preacher talks to the people about salvation or on the importance of receiving salvation, many young men and women become scared. They become agitated and tremble severely on hearing the word 'salvation'.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
One day, a little girl who was just eight years old returned home from school as usual. She saw that all her family members were seated together. She went to her father and asked him, "Father, is not this house yours?" The father said, "Yes, my little darling". She then asked him, "If this house is ours, then why should grandpa and grandma live here? Why do not they go to their house?" On hearing it all were stunned. She continued, "Father, moreover transfer this house which is in your name to my name, because when my younger brother grows up he may fight for a share." When her father asked her where her brother would live then, she said that the small dark outhouse might be given to him.
Dear friend, just look at the greediness and the love of material possessions in the heart of a little girl who is just eight years old. That is why King David confessed, "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me" (Psalm 51:5). Verily sin is ingrained in the blood stream of everyone of us human beings.
I receive lots of letters from many youngsters who are residing in various parts of the world. Most of the letters that I receive are outpours of young men and women languishing in tears. They write to me saying, "Brother, every day and every hour of my life, I am oppressed by evil thoughts which have enslaved me and ruined me and my life. I am languishing in tears and loneliness. I had a desire to enjoy all the pleasures of this world. All my friends who provided them to me have at last deserted me. They have left me to suffer in loneliness and tears. I am unable to concentrate in my studies. Incapable of doing anything good or useful, my own conscience tortures me day and night."
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
Our gracious Lord Jesus took upon Himself the death born of sin, submitted Himself to be broken, bruised and tasted death for each one of us, so that His children might live in peace and enjoy freedom from all pain, distress, sorrows and sufferings.
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."
(1 John 1:7)
Dear friend, has sin brought in complete defeat in your life? Is sin tormenting you? Does the loneliness and heaviness of heart making you languish in pain and sufferings? Have you been neglected and deserted by everyone? Are you shedding tears day and night unable to bear the heaviness of your heart? Let not your heart be troubled! You can become victorious through the blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus shed every drop of His precious blood on the cross of Calvary. He wants to cleanse you and make you into a new person. Plead with Him saying, "Father in heaven, grant me the grace to be released from all my sins. Change me into a new person." He will wash you clean by His precious blood and cleanse you of all your sins. He will change you to be His beloved child. He will shower all His heavenly blessings on you.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Deliver me from all my iniquities and failures. Make me a completely changed person by washing me with Your precious blood. Help me to lead a god-fearing life. Clothe me with Your abundant blessings. Make me to stand as a witness for Your unchangeable love and compassion. I give You all the glory. In Jesus' matchless name, I ask.
