The Lord God in Your Midst

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Without the presence of God, life is void. But when the Lord enters into a heart, the life blossoms. It is filled with love and divine peace. All the difference is only due to the presence of God.

The Lord of lords who made the first man Adam and his companion Eve came seeking them in the cool of the day to spend some time pleasantly with them. Because they disobeyed God's word, they failed to realize the glory of His presence. Why was that? When the devil tempted them to do just what God had forbidden, they succumbed to his temptation and disobeyed Him. Immediately they were banished from the presence of God and driven to a miserable plight.

Let us search our lives a little and ask ourselves, "Do I live in the presence of God? Am I able to feel His loving presence within me?" God loves to come and reside in our midst and provide all our needs.

"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him." (John 14:23)

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20)

God has said, "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." (2 Corinthians 6:16)

For many years, I too lived as a nominal Christian, unaware of the glory of the Lord's presence. But by His abundant grace He came seeking me one day. He made me realize how sweet is His presence. Many years have rolled by, but the glory of His enchanting presence has never left me since then. It is that which has been enabling me to stand steadfast by the Lord's side amidst all trials and tribulations.

Many years ago, on one particular day, while I was praying alone on my knees in the presence of God, through the Holy Spirit the Lord came inside my heart. I felt as if some fire had spread within me. Since that day I am able to feel a divine strength and power, a divine faith and a divine wisdom at work within me. The Lord has granted this divine experience not only to me but to every member of my family. So, at times of family prayer we realize the abundant presence of God, granting us His exceeding joy and peace.

"For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people." (Isaiah 28:11)

"In the law it is written, "With men of other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people; and yet, for all that, they will not hear Me," says the Lord." (1 Corinthians 14:21)

My dear friend, the Lord grants this exalted life to everyone and gladdens us. Do not get confused by pleading that you are handicapped in some way or other and so you would not be blessed that way. The Lord will surely grant you this heavenly experience. How great is our joy when someone dear to us comes and stays with us! If so, how much greater will be our joy when the Lord of lords comes and dwells with us, talks to us and leads us in His path of righteousness. Do not think lightly of this and forfeit your blessing. Wait at the feet of God right now. Humble yourselves and implore Him in prayer saying, "Lord! Do come into our homes and our hearts to reside and talk to us. Fill everyone with Your Holy Spirit and direct us with Your divine power!" He will surely hear your earnest prayer and make you rejoice.

Prayer :

Loving Heavenly Father,

Come into my life and into my home to reside. Help me to lend a listening ear to Your gentle loving voice speaking in my heart. Fill me with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Lord, instruct me and teach me the way that I should go. I give You all the glory. In Jesus' matchless name, I ask.

Amen.
