The Secret Safeguard

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Dangers and disasters have become common in everyday life, no matter however cautious one may be. There is a secret safeguard to keep you away from all these dangers of the world.

Do you become faint and weary very soon? Are you often anguished, unable to keep even small problems to yourself? Frequent dangers and disasters are quite common in life however cautious you may be. On such occasions how are you to be strong enough to bear the blows of adversity? There is a secret way of escape for that. It is all too simple.

The secret is to look up to the face of God, our Creator and cling resolutely to Him (Psalm 77:2; 107:6,13,19,28). His power and strength will remain firm and unmoved amidst all weariness and then stir like a lion for assault on your adversaries. By reading the Word of God, praying without ceasing, you can live a victorious life, unwearied by the worst afflictions. Along with you, transform others to withstand the worst weariness.

"If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small" (Proverbs 24:10).
"The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength." (Isaiah 40:28,29)

According to the above promise, the Creator never faints nor feels weary. He enables you to be like Him unwearied in any situation.

My dear friend, when some calamity strikes you or your family, just think a little if you have the strength to bear it. If you don't have enough of it, it is because your relationship with the Lord is not that much strong. Turn your heart today towards the Lord who loves you dearly and stretches forth His loving hands to receive you. Submit at His feet all the dirt and evil desires in them, so abominable to Him. He will cleanse your souls with His precious blood and grant you fresh and fragrant life. You will be strengthened in your ties with Him. After that at times of danger, if you just look up, He will rush to your relief. That is why He said, "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him" (Psalm 91:15).

I remember an incident which happened when my son was one year old. One day, my son slipped from my sight and I started searching for him all over the house. Suddenly I heard my son clapping from somewhere I turned around to see my son standing in the middle of tub in the garden and the tub was full to its brim. Even now I wonder how he got into the deep tub and stood steady and erect in the middle of the tub. If he had slipped and fallen down in the water, we could not have seen him alive. I could realise that verily the Lord had saved him from danger.

The Lord miraculously protects us at times of danger! Such experiences are many in the lives of individuals and families that lean upon Him for strength and safety. Lean on Him and derive the strength He supplies.

Friend, follow the pattern of our Lord Jesus Christ; strengthen yourself as much as you can by improving your prayer life and your fellowship with God. In them lies the true success. Examine your life. Set it right in fear and trembling before God and live a pleasing life as a blessing to yourselves and others.

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1,2)

Prayer:

Lord of Heaven and Earth,

Worldly dangers and disasters make me feel helpless and tired. I am not able to spend my time in Your presence. Help me to stay focused in You from where comes my help. Grant me Your grace to lean on you and look only at Your face for my help for safety and strength. I make this prayer in the precious name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus' Christ.

Amen.
