Fame is from the Lord

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: The Lord is mindful of you. Cast all your cares upon Him. He will exalt you at the right time. Hold fast to Him tirelessly. He will grant you fame and honour you. He will make honour and glory abound!

"I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes," says the Lord." (Zephania 3:20)

Dear friend, fame comes from our God who commanded the raging ocean, to be still and it stood still. The same God is with you today. You should cling to Him. You should give room in your heart for Him to dwell. You will then have honour and fame.

I am the youngest child to my parents. I felt too shy even to come out in public. I was such a timid and stay-at-home person then; yet the Lord chose me for His ministry. He gave me His wisdom. He helped me to face huge audiences of several millions of men and women and preach His word.

Friend, the worldly pressures may force you to plead, "Alas! I am a nobody! I have no learning, no status!" But it is the Lord who exalts you. At the same time, do not boast of your degrees and titles. For all such blessings given by God, praise Him alone. Do not set your eyes so much on the blessings themselves but look up to the Lord their author and dispenser. He will then bless you more. The eminence you have attained is just the beginning. You have a long way to go. The Lord will raise you still further. You will have honour and glory, all through Him.

Look at the life of Solomon. The Lord appeared to him in a dream by night and said, "Ask! What shall I give you?" (1 Kings 3:5). Solomon asked, "An understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" (1 Kings 3:9). And God blessed Solomon saying, "I have also given you what you have not asked both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days"(1 Kings 3:13). What Solomon asked was only wisdom. But the Lord opened the gates of blessings and blessed him in such a way where there was no one to stand before his wisdom. God helped him fame spread all over the world. The same God will do that in your life too. Just believe Him, humble yourself before Him and fame and honour will be yours. He will exalt you at the right time.

After the death of my daughter Angel, I used to think of her often and cry. Even if I was alone for a short while, her face would come in my thoughts. One day, the Lord spoke to me that I should write a book. I had never written a book before. I had no qualification for such a huge task. I humbled and obeyed the Lord's direction. I began writing my first book weeping over my dear departed daughter. The outcome of that effort was the book 'Priceless Pearl.' The Lord granted His grace that the Hindi version of that book won the National Award! God did all that for me as I humbled myself before Him and yet obeyed His words. It was the Holy Spirit who revealed to me what I should write. God alone gave me the grace to write my second book titled, 'Rose Amidst Thorns'. The same God will grant you eternal bliss and enduring fame! It is our duty to give Him all praise, glory and honour.

Friend, always remember the truth that God's children shall never lack anything. Because the Lord is mindful of you, you can safely cast all your cares upon Him. Surely He will exalt you!
Rejoice in the Lord always! He has prepared beforehand all good works. Hold fast to Him tirelessly. He will grant you sufficient faith. He will make honour and glory abound!

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

I know all fame and honour come from You. I am not worthy to even ask You to grant me fame and honour, but Lord, make me worthy to receive the fame and honour from You. I surrender myself at Your Holy feet for Your plans about my life to be fulfilled at the right time. Exalt me at the appointed time. I make this prayer in the glorious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Amen.
