Let All Fear Vanish!Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: When the Holy Spirit fills you, God's glorious presence takes possession over you; all your fears will disappear. Any sense of unwanted guilt, inferiority complex or fear of the future will vanish. Love is rare in this world; and perfect love is rarer still. But the Holy Bible says, "The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us" (Romans 5:5).
The Holy Spirit brings the perfect love that has no fear into our hearts. It is perfect because it is the love of God and not of human beings. Love of God is in no way comparable to the worldly love that we normally long for from human beings. When God's love fills you, a new strength flows into your heart; a new hope springs in your mind, that the Lord will not forsake you and that He will do everything perfectly for you. A kind of unshakable faith comes out of this perfect love of God.
"The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." (Romans 8:26)
Dear friend, when the Holy Spirit fills you, God's glorious presence takes possession of you. At that moment, all your fears will disappear. Any sense of guilt, inferiority complex or fear of the future will vanish altogether and a fresh strength and power will take control of your heart. The Holy Spirit will intercede for you with groanings. He knows all your burdens and what are going to happen to you in future.
We read in the Bible that seeing the huge army of Pharaoh, the Israelites were dismayed. They shouted and cried out in fear and trembling, "Alas! They are sure to overcome us. We have no hope." So soon they had forgotten the Lord's might and His mighty arm which had seized them from the hands of Pharaoh.
Dear friend, you may suddenly forget all that God has done in your life when a small problem comes into your life, though the Lord might have been blessing you abundantly. Like the Israelites, you too may also lament, "Alas! Surely I cannot come out of this hard time; Oh no! There is no way out for me; Will I ever be able to lead the happy life as I once lived?" But you must know one truth: It is the work of satan to frequently attack your heart with terror. He says, "You have no future; you cannot study and obtain a degree; marriage is impossible for you; you cannot have children; your life partner and relatives will discard you; you have no chance of any employment; stop thinking of any more success in life." The devil brings terror to frighten your heart, so that you may forget the power that is in the name of 'Jesus'. Do not allow the fear to overtake your confidence that you have in Jesus. Let not satan win over you, my friend. Defeat him by your faith. Claim victory over satan in the name of 'Jesus'. You will be the winner. Instead of keeping you in terror, the devil will tremble before you.
David, when he fought with the giant Goliath, said with proud confidence, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied" (1 Samuel 17:45). Accordingly, David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth (1 Samuel 17:49). David brought a resounding victory to his nation.
"All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)
When the Holy Spirit fills you with faith born of love for the Lord, no fear can ever strike you. God's love always keeps your hope alive and makes it grow in you day by day. A fresh courage and confidence will fill you; your trust in the Lord will be deepened. In course of time, you will become chastened as gold and your life will be firmly built on the Lord. Your trust in men will be withdrawn and your dependence on God will become complete. You will become transformed in His likeness. Your life will also become totally new.
Many years ago, when my father delivered a message over the radio, a young man with defective eyesight, wearing spectacles, was listening to the message. There was not much hope for his eyes. Yet, he was anxiously praying, "Lord Jesus! You should bless me. I must be filled with the Lord's presence and grace. I must study well and advance in life." Just then, my father, under the power of the Holy Spirit, said, "A young man, with his eyesight dimmed and wearing thick spectacles, is listening to this message in great anguish. Son! The Lord now touches you!" At that very moment, the Holy Spirit descended on him so mightily and restored him perfect eyesight. He threw his spectacles and started seeing clearly. Several years have gone by. Now he has acquired several degrees. Wearing no spectacles; he is hale and healthy even today, living a victorious life.
My dear friend, are you frightened about your future? Remember, the Holy Spirit is given to you to dispel the fear. He will fight your battle. He is mighty to save you even to the end. Never allow fear to take control over you; allow the Holy Spirit to take full control of you; the fear that satan brings in your heart will flee.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I know that from You flows the perfect and true love. You are the one to whom I can come as I am without any fear, because You are full of love. Even after accepting You, sometimes, I have allowed fear to enter into my heart and thus, my life has become miserable. Take away all such fear and terrors now. Master, let me enjoy the fullness of Your love by filling me with Your Holy Spirit. From this day, You fight the battles on my behalf. I give all the glory to Your almighty name.
