Wisdom Comes from the LordSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: When you ask the Lord to give you an understanding heart and wisdom, He will definitely give you. He will grant you success in all that you do and will exalt you. When we accept God as our Loving Father, we become eligible for His abundant blessing. He promises to provide all our needs. The Psalmist says, "As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him" (Psalm 103:13). Jesus promises that whatever you ask in His name, He will do it for you. "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful" (Luke 6:36; 2 Corinthians 1:3).
God our Creator knows that we are mere dust. He will grant us all our needs. The Lord knows that you lack good memory and because of that you are not able to concentrate in your studies. He knows all your bodily ailments and the sacrifices made by your parents for your sake. He is so merciful to you. Our Father in Heaven looks upon His children with great pity and grants them whatever they ask. But there are some who do not know how to ask and receive His abundant blessings.
Once, I read an amusing story. A grandfather was having his regular walk in the evening in his garden. He heard his beloved granddaughter's voice from behind a plant in a remote corner. When he went near, he saw her on her knees just repeating, "A, B,C,D..." On asking the child what she was doing, she said she was praying. The grandfather then asked her, how repeating A,B,C,D... would make a prayer. The child said very innocently that she did not know how to pray, but Jesus would form meaningful words from what she recited and make out her prayer!
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights." (James 1:17)
There are some, who instead of praying before writing an examination, pray afterwards, "Lord! Change all the answers I have written to correct ones." A certain girl prayed after writing the Geography examination, "Lord! I have written that Mt.Everest is in South Africa. But I know You are almighty. You have all power in Your hands. Please move Everest to South Africa."
There are some, who instead of studying their lessons, would pray that the Lord should help them to get the question papers before the examination. Some others would pray that God should blind the eyes of the invigilators so that they can copy the answers from their neighbours. There are some who pray that God should help them in placing a clever student by their side in the examination hall who would oblige them with the correct answers!
Dear friend, instead of praying like what was said previously, ask the loving Lord to grant you good knowledge and wisdom. When you ask the Lord for wisdom, He promises to you whatever you ask for."
The Bible says, "For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6). In 1 Kings 3:9-11, we see that the Lord gave Solomon 'an understanding heart' that he could discern between good and evil. Kingship was conferred on Solomon, a common man like us. Today, the Lord tells you, "My dear child, ask Me to give you an understanding heart, to enable you to grasp all that you study. I shall grant your request."
"Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men"
(Luke 2:52). Jesus grew up to be a strong and healthy young man. He was just a young man like us! But all who heard His teaching were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?" (Matthew 13:54).
The examiners who evaluate your answer papers should recognize wisdom and the precision of your knowledge and spontaneously award high marks. You should pass with distinction and be honoured. Ask God your Father all these blessings.
Before I came to Christ, I failed in all subjects in my first year degree examination. I experimented with every method to pass; Nothing succeeded. It was then I came to know Christ. He filled me abundantly with His Holy Spirit. Every morning, I would place my hands on the lessons I was about to study that day and pray, "Lord, I am Your child. You are my Father. Help me to remember all that I study and write my answers correctly. Enable me to score high marks in the examinations." Only then I was able to understand what I studied. I did well in all my examinations and scored good marks. Thereafter, the Lord conferred upon me degree after degrees. Within a short time, He helped me to get a Doctorate as well. My God gave me whatever I asked Him. Today, by His grace I am a success in life. He has taken me to 27 countries all over the world and helped me to speak in the midst of men of great learning. If the Lord is within you, He will exalt you likewise. He will surely help you in passing the examinations.
If you have strayed from God, return to Him today. Accept Him in your heart as your Father. Ask Him, "Lord, grant me wisdom, an understanding heart and creditable success in the examinations!" He will exalt you. He will bless all your undertakings and will give you success in all that you do. He will shower His grace and abundant blessings on you. Let not your heart be troubled.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I lack wisdom. Lord, grant me an understanding heart so that I can understand all situations that I come across and deal with them wisely. Remove all the blockages from my life that stop Your abundant blessing to flow into my life. In Jesus' mighty name, I ask.
