Reward for CharitySpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord will give you rich blessings. As a partner, you have taken part in my joy, responsibilities, losses and sorrows in the ministry. The Lord will surely love you very much! In our Ministry, I have seen partners who give liberally to the ministry even amidst their poverty.
Once I met a poor mother who had come to the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower. The matters that she shared with me brought tears to my eyes. Her husband was a drunkard. She had to work hard to sustain herself and her children. As she narrated all her family problems, my heart broke. I prayed for her with tears. When she was about to leave, she opened her bag and said, "Brother, I have some money for you. Please accept this for the ministry that you are doing." I was shocked to see it. She had saved Rs.8,000/- for the Lord's work. I said, "Sister, this money is necessary for you. So, you have it for your expenses." But she would not agree. She said, "No, I have saved this money for God as and when I could save little amounts. So please accept it for God's ministry. The Lord will help me in return." I was amazed by the love she had for the Lord's work!
When you give to the Lord's work, your reward will be great!
Firstly, the Lord loves you when you give cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7). When you give to Him and His ministry, He loves you very much.
Secondly, the Lord multiplies that which you give and He adds no sorrow to it. The Word of God says, "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22). "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). According to this promise of our gracious Lord Jesus, you shall be blessed!
Thirdly, the Word of God says, "He who wins souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).
Several millions of people are touched through the 20 facets of the Jesus Calls Ministry every year. This is not a task that could be achieved by an ordinary man. It is, indeed, a mighty work of the hand of God. He does it through His people who work with me, helping me in several ways. When someone gives to the Lord's work, the Lord will write the names of the souls that are touched by the love of Christ through this Ministry, in the name of those donors. He will consider you as wise and be happy over you.
For the first time when I recorded a gramophone disc in HMV company, to produce that disk, I needed a huge amount of money. I did not know what to do. Just then, my friend Mr.Chellaiah from Erode had come to see me. Knowing my need, he paid the cost in the HMV office by himself. He did not stop with that. He also funded my second gramophone recording and helped me release another disk. Today, his children and grandchildren are all engineers and they are well-settled in life, all because of his sacrificial support to the Lord's work. There is none that have not received blessings from the Lord for supporting His servants in their mission.
Dear friend, the Lord will give you the same rich blessings. As a partner, you have taken part in my joy, reproach, trials, losses and sorrows in the ministry. You are standing by my side encouraging me to do more for the Lord. By God's grace, our ministry is expanding every day. The Lord will surely love you very much!
The Lord said to His disciples, "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matthew 10:41,42)
So, your reward in this world and in the world to come will be abundant! You are the Lord's beloved.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I have been doing whatever I could to support Your ministry on this earth. I promise to continue to do that even in the days to come. Father, let Your ministries expand and reach out to the unreached parts of the world, caring Your love and compassion to all humanity. Let Your name be glorified. Bless all those who support Your servants. According to Your promises, multiply my blessings. I commit myself into Your hands and pray this prayer through Christ, my Lord.
