The Fear of the LordSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: God calls you as His child. But what is the difference between you and others? Have you crucified the lust and evil desires? If you truly belong to the Lord, you and your household will be blessed. Our God is the only One who finds pleasure in calling us His 'children'.
"Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Dear friend, all you have to do is just cast your burden upon Him who calls us as His children.
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1, 2)
Today, we find problems in families, in relationships, in office, in churches, and everywhere. The reason is disobedience to God and failure to walk in His holy ways. When God tells us what is right, what is wrong, what to speak, what to do or what not to do, we have to accept it.
"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way, and the perverse mouth I hate." (Proverbs 8:13)
Job testifies about himself and says, "I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a young woman?" (Job 31:1). So the Lord gave a witness about the righteousness of Job (Job 1:8). Can God give a similar testimony about you?
"And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding." (Job 28:28)
The Bible says in 1 Peter 1:15,16, "As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy'."
God wishes to bless us with a holy life. He will make us righteous to lead a holy life. Believe that God through Christ will grant you grace, because He bore our sins on the cross.
A boy was brought up by his parents in a godly way. Since the father had to go out of station for ministry, only the mother used to nurture him. She used to tell him stories of God's love. She taught him the ways to lead a holy life. As a child, he listened to all her advice. But as he grew the young lad began to go astray. Some friends influenced his character and led him into evil ways. There was no peace at home because of him. He used to get angry at the sight of his mother. "Oh! How much I pray for him. But he does not like me. He gets angry when I teach him of God's ways", the mother wept bitterly. She then looked up to the Lord, who has promised, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?" (Jeremiah 32:27). Weekly once, she fasted and prayed with tears for him, from morning till evening. She read God's Word, took the promises and claimed them for her son. The Lord heard her prayer. Finally one day, the boy repented for his sins. The Lord brought him back to the righteous ways. Because of the mother's prayers, today the boy has become a mighty servant of God.
"And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:24)
My dear friend, today, what is the difference between you and others? Have you crucified the lust and evil desires of this world? If you belong to the Lord, you and your household will be blessed. God bless you! Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I praise and thank You for being my heavenly Father. I surrender myself to Your love and confess, Lord, that I fully belong to You and am Your child. Be with me always and help me lead a righteous life even in this evil world. Help me to be a witness to Your glory as You have called me to holiness. Help me to serve You with holiness. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen. |
