Sowing for the Other World

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: We need to get rid of sin now itself, here in this world. We need to sow for the other world. God is willing to give us His grace to do this in this world. Before that, we need to consecrate ourselves.

Apart from investing in our lives and in others' lives, we also need to save for the other world, even while we are in this world. The 'other world' is Heaven, where we go after death.

Psalm 126:5 says, "Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy."

The Bible tells us, "For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life" (Galatians 6:8).

Proverbs 11:18 says, "He who sows righteousness will have a sure reward." The sure reward is the everlasting life with Jesus Christ our Lord.

We see in the Bible, a woman who lived in sin, seeking the Lord as He was sitting at the table in the Pharsee's house. Without hesitating a weebit, she stood at His feet behind Him weeping, and began to wash His feet with tears. Imagine how much tears she would have shed to wash His feet. Then she wiped His feet with her hair - the crown of her head, and surrendered her life in totality at the feet of Jesus. She anointed His feet with expensive fragrant oil. Inspite of doing all this, she never spoke a word. She expressed the burden of her heart, through her tears. The Pharisees around Jesus commented that she was a sinner. But Jesus pitied the woman who humbled herself before Him. He said, "My daughter, your sins are fogiven. Your faith has saved you. Go in peace and sin no more." Others condemned her as a 'sinner', but Jesus never called her a 'sinner'. He lovingly called her 'daughter' and changed her life in a matter seconds. How much our Lord loves sinners. He loves us the same way. Do not worry. Whoever may push you aside, run to the Lord, surrender your life into His hands and He will make you His child and grant you His peace.

There was a well-known Pastor. His church was blessed with righteous men. All of a sudden, the Pastor was struck by a terrible disease. One day his wife contacted me over the telephone and said, "Brother, come immediately. My husband is suffering so much. He wants to see you urgently." We left for his place together as a family. We thought he wuld ask us to pray for his disease. Instead, he held on to my father's hands in front of everyone there, and he said, "Brother, I have spoken a lot of evil things about you. Now, I am going to die, and I am gripped by fear. I know you are a man of God. Since I have spoken ill about you in your absence, I am filled with guilt. If I die with this sin, I shall not be able to see the Lord Jesus in heaven. I do not want to go to hell. So please tell me just once that you have forgiven me, and I will die as a righteous man." Just as he desired, he received the forgiveness and a divine comfort filled his soul, and he happily breathed his last.

My dear friend, we need to get rid of sin now itself, here in this world. We need to sow for the other world. God is willing to give us His grace to do this in this world. Let us consecrate ourselves at his feet and live in His grace.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

There are several sins in my life and in my heart that make me a sinful person. The multitude of sins stands as a wall before me, blocking my vision of You. Lord Jesus, wash me by Your blood. Cleanse me and make me holy. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me lead a righteous life. Help me to sow seeds of righteousness unto eternity. I give You all the glory and pray this prayer in Jesus' magnificent name.

Amen.
