Be GratefulSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: We who have received miracles from God's hands should not go back to evil ways of old, but we must proclaim His miracles to all and live as witnesses to Him. God has a reason to heal us. He heals us so that He can receive all the glory, that His name may be glorified.
"I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images." (Isaiah 42:8) "For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." (Matthew 6:13)
If you read Matthew 22:21, we find Jesus Himself saying, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Glory belongs to God alone. Even today, when Jesus heals us, when He performs miracles in our lives, He expects that we should give all honour and glory to Him alone. Jesus perceived power proceeding out of Him and asked the people who stood around, "Who touched Me?" (Luke 8:45). His disciples then said, "Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?'" (Luke 8:45). But Jesus could perceive the thought with which the woman touched Him and that healing power had flown out of Him.
"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." (Hebrew 4:13) "He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man." (John 2:24,25) "He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him." (Daniel 2:22)
So powerful a God could easily find out the woman who touched Him. But He was patient for a while to elicit the words from her own mouth. Realising that she could hide herself no longer, in fear and trembling she fell at the feat of Jesus and declared before all, what made her touch Him and how she was healed at once. She glorified God.
My friend, do you know why Jesus heals everyone of us? It is so that after receiving miracles at His hands we may not go back to the evil ways of old, but that we may proclaim His miracles to all and live as witnesses to Him. On the other hand, if ungrateful to the Lord, we go back to the devil's evil ways we will become sinners against God.
One day a sister testified in a 'Jesus Calls' Good News Meeting at Trichy which thrilled me very much. She testified: "Brother, for many years I suffered, unable to walk. One day I participated in a meeting conducted by Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran. While he prayed, by God's power he called me by my name. At once the power of God descended over my legs. The Lord healed me. I began to walk. I was invited to give my testimony and glorify God. I felt shy to testify before such a crowd and returned home in fear. I did not tell anyone the miracle which God had performed to me. As days of guilt and fear seized me, after some days, my legs became weak and again I lost their use. In much pain I came to this meeting and cried, 'Lord, forgive me. Give me one more chance and heal me'. He again called me by my name through Bro. D.G.S.Dhinakaran. He forgave my sins. He touched me and healed me again. Now I am able to walk with ease. I am grateful to God."
Dear friend, Jesus desires that we should be grateful to Him. He is the Almighty God. He is the One who gave Himself for us, out of His love for us. Before receiving miracles from His hand, promise Him, "Lord, if You bless me, I will follow You. I will glorify You." God will then gladly bless you. The health He gives to you will, forever be yours.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Cleanse me with Your son Jesus's precious blood and make me pure and holy. You alone can heal my wounds and sicknesses. Heal me from all my mental and physical problems and help me lead a blessed and happy life from this day onwards. As You are going to do exactly the way I have asked, I will ever stand as a testimony to Your name. In Jesus's name, I pray.
Amen. |
