The Lord Who Provides

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: When you become a child of God, your Heavenly Father knows that He should provide all your needs. Do not worry about tommorow. Commit yourself and your needs into His hands. The Lord provides.

When we see the life of Peter, we see that he had several needs in his life. The Lord granted him all his daily needs. He was neither troubled nor did he find anything lacking in his daily life.

Once, he toiled all through the night and had not caught even a single fish. Jesus then came up to the scene and said, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch". And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking" (Luke 5:4,6).

When Peter's mother-in-law lay sick with fever, Jesus came into Peter's house, touched her hand and the fever immediately left her. Then she arose and served them (Matthew 8:14,15).

At Capernaum, the tax collectors asked Peter, "Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?" (Matthew 17:24). Then Peter came into the house and was perplexed. Jesus knew what was in his mind, and He said, "Go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you" (Matthew 17:27).

Jesus went to Peter and performed these miracles for him. It shows His most wonderful and gracious heart. Peter never felt worried about his family. He was always cheerful. That made him write so boldly and clearly, "Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).

"Jesus knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man." (John 2:24,25)

My dear friend, when you become a child of God, your Heavenly Father knows that He should provide all your needs. Jesus said, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble" (Matthew 6:33,34).

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20)

Dear friend, do not grieve and worry about tommorow. Commit yourself and your life into His hands. He will transform your life completely. He knows all your needs. He will not despise you. The Lord will provide.

Prayer:

Most precious and loving Father,

I give praise and glory to Your most holy name. You know my daily needs. You fulfill them accordingly at the right time. Teach me to thank and love You more and more. Help me to seek You and Your kingdom first in my day-to-day life. I surrender myself and my life into Your hands. Transform me and my life completely. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.

Amen.
